At The Next Level, we hire only the best and most experienced language teachers, academic tutors and test prep instructors–both Russian and international teaching professionals. We understand that being a good English teacher does not mean that you can teach Mathematics or help a student get a higher score on the SATs. Our teachers all have specific skills and we assign your instructor solely based on those unique skill sets. If your child needs a great Advanced Level Chemistry tutor, that’s what you get.
This is why all of our instructors are great for “kids” of all ages:
- Next Level English Instructors. Our Russian-educated English teachers are great; they all have university degrees in teaching English to Russians and a minimum of five years teaching experience. They are superb at teaching all English proficiency levels up to and including Upper Intermediate levels. Many have advanced English teaching degrees from internationally-recognized universities, including Oxford, St. Andrews, Kings College, London the University of Pennsylvania.
- Our native-speaking English instructors specialize in teaching more advanced Russian English learners. All have CELTA certificates and extensive teaching qualifications with experience of teaching English to Russian speakers; our international instructors are real English teaching professionals and not simply expats or students living in Moscow without any real professional teaching experience or teaching aptitude;
- Tutors. Subject tutoring at its best. Russia’s top academic and subject matter test tutors work at The Next Level. They must have prior academic tutoring experience and proven mastery of their subject test or exam. From English Literature to Math Level 2, our tutors are up to the test. Our subject matter tutors are not only experts in their field of study but also know how to actually teach that subject. Being a professional mathematician does not mean that you can teach math: Next Level instructors can do both subject matter professionals and excellent teachers and that is why their instruction has proven so effective;
- Next Level Test Prep Instructors.Teachers first. High scorers second. The first thing we look for in our potential test prep instructors is proof that they are amazing teachers. We also require that they have scored in the top 1% of all test takers. We demand this level of mastery because our test prep courses do not merely teach superficial tricks that only work on basic problems. Rather, we teach the strategies that lead to the highest scores on the real SAT and ACT, and our instructors can show students at any level how to master this test.
- The best qualified instructors in Moscow require teaching excellence and all of our outstanding instructors have prior university teaching experience. This gives them the ability to teach, not just the ability to get a good score. Having prior teaching experience affords the skills needed to facilitate an effective class.
- Our Instructors are adaptive and flexible to the needs of their students. Their empathy and experience in understanding student levels allows them to present and adapt the curriculum to the learning styles and scoring levels of the class. A live classroom instructor is the best adaptive engine in the world. Computers and their adaptive algorithms may be able to adjust the curriculum, but instructors can do it better since they are in the classroom with the students and have firsthand knowledge of each student’s learning style, needs, and abilities. At the class level the instructor will take into account test scores, class participation, homework progress, and student needs, and then adapt the class to the scoring levels of the students. Instructors also adapt the curriculum to the individual student and can provide an individualized, optimal study plan for each student. We have small class sizes, generally no more than four students, so our instructors have a much easier time adapting to student scoring levels and needs. With a Next Level instructor you get focused, custom tailored instruction.
