Teenagers use the written word in their own language to communicate in both social and academic contexts, and many of them will need to develop good writing skills in English too. The Next Level helps teenagers to improve their writing skills for their school studies and English exams.

Listening can be tricky for English learners, especially if there aren’t any visual clues to help with the meaning or if there are several speakers, background noises or different accents to contend with. However, there are activities strategies to enable our learners to become better listeners.
Progress tests, end-of-term exams, end-of-year exams and official exams to name a few. It stands to reason that the better prepared our teen learners are, the better they will perform under exam conditions. This does not only mean preparing them linguistically, but also equipping them with appropriate exam strategies.
As online video-sharing sites have developed, a wealth of short clips on a o variety of topics are now available for classroom use. The teacher is no longer limited to school-owned cassettes or DVDs; rather, the world is at their fingertips. Learners can also access video from a number of devices, whether at school, at home or on the go.
What are young British people like these days? What are they into? What do they do at school and in their free time? Where do they live and which languages do they speak? What do they eat? What do they wear? To answer these questions our students we need to know about current British culture.
Using stories and poems for English language learning provides an opportunity to introduce students to a whole culture. What better way to find out about a country or English – speaking countries and challenge the stereotypes portrayed in many course books? We can give students this essential background to their language learning while improving their extensive reading and language skills at the same time.
Courses in The Next Level Summer English program are appropriate for intermediate to advanced students who want to enhance their English language skills, improve job performance, or undertake university work. We will post details about 2016 courses in early May, so check back then for the most up-to-date information.

Studying Russian right here in Moscow over the Winter holidays and being able to practice your skills in everyday situations is a very effective way to improve your language skills, whether at a Beginners or Advanced level.
We offer Russian language courses at three different levels – depending on the number of participants and their Russian language proficiencies. Students will be assigned to the level that best fits their competence, determined by a language assessment which will be conducted online before the course starts.
